Fundraising Letter

South Africa faces a huge education crisis. Half of all learners drop out of school and do not take their final matric (Grade 12) examinations. Of those that do write the exams, only 11% qualify for university entrance. In the 2011 matric exams, 1 in 6 learners obtained less than 10% for Mathematics.

Education for Africa was established in 2005. We cater for learners that ‘dropped’ out of mainstream schools and for adults that have not completed their matric. The services we provide give learners the opportunity to access higher education and better job prospects. (Please refer to Background page).

Education for Africa is urgently looking to establish new premises to make our Learners’ lives comfortable. Currently we are operating from two venues due to not having a permanent base. This puts a lot of strain on the learners as they have to commute between the venues thereby burdening them with additional transport costs and time wastage.

Mr Cassiem Christian of the Ex-Servicemen League in Silvertown, Cape Town, offered his grounds for temporary classrooms to be erected. We require a minimum of 3 class rooms, an office and toilet facilities. The cost of this exceed R250 000. We humbly request that you come to our assistance in this regard.

For further information please contact Mr I Mowzer 079 577 3604 or Mrs Angie Jacobs 078 372 0078.

Your generous contribution will greatly enhance your reputation as a caring, compassionate and social welfare contributor.

Thank You in anticipation.
